Break Free From Hoarding/Cluttering

What is Hoarding & Cluttering?

Hoarding and Cluttering are often related but sometimes separate issues.  Hoarding is a behavior led by a person's inability to let go of various possessions for fear that he/she will need the item in the future.  It leads to the person owning an inordinate and often unmanageable amount of stuff.  Cluttering is a person's inability to keep their things organized and often leads to their home being filled with trash and other useless items that the person feels unable to do anything about getting cleaned up or creating any sense of organization.

How Common is Hoarding/Cluttering?

The number of people who hoard and/or clutter is really unknown because most people who deal with these issues feel so much shame about their behavior that they hide it from the world and often refuse to let other people into their home.  There is growing evidence that these behaviors are quite common and have recently start to become highlighted on reality TV.  My professional experience is that approximately 10% of  the clients that have come into my office for unrelated issues also struggle with hoarding and/or cluttering.

It Can Be Overcome!

Most people who deal with hoarding/cluttering feel totally overwhelmed by it and feel like it is impossible to overcome it.  With the right support you can overcome your hoarding and/or cluttering.  All you need to do is take the first step of acknowledging that it is a problem in your life and then reach out for help, because no one can overcome it alone.

My Approach to Hoarding/Cluttering

I will help you let go of the shame and anxiety related to hoarding/cluttering and through hypnotherapy help you release the emotional components that are behind your behavior.  I will also help you set up a support network of different people who will help you with many of the physical aspects of the work to be done.  In a relatively short period of time you will find yourself easily taking control of your life and reducing your belongings and clutter.
